Senior Assistance

Honoring Our Elders With Dignity, Care, and Compassion

At Shekinah Glory Community Outreach, we believe our seniors deserve to age with dignity, peace, and the assurance that they are not forgotten. Our Senior Assistance Program is designed to meet both the physical and emotional needs of older adults in our community — especially those living alone, on fixed incomes, or without nearby family.

Through a combination of nutritional support, light housekeeping services, and community connection, we help our elders remain safe, nourished, and uplifted in their own homes..

Many seniors in our community live with limited mobility, financial hardship, or social isolation. Our program not only lightens their daily burdens — it affirms their value and helps them maintain their independence with dignity.

Our Senior Assistance Program is currently offered three days a week and is available to seniors based on need and availability of workers and volunteers. Referrals from family, caregivers, churches, or community workers are welcome.

“Do not cast me away when I am old; do not forsake me when my strength is gone.” – Psalm 71:9

Light-Duty Household Cleaning

We provide in-home cleaning services to eligible seniors a minimum of three times per week. Our trained and compassionate team members assist with tasks that help seniors maintain a safe and comfortable living space — without the physical strain.

Services include:

  • Sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming floors

  • Dusting and wiping down surfaces

  • Cleaning bathrooms and kitchens

  • Washing dishes or light laundry

  • Tidying and light organizing

These services are not just about cleanliness — they also promote safety and reduce the risk of falls, illness, and isolation.

Companionship & Wellness Checks

Every visit is more than a drop-in. We take time to check in, engage in light conversation, and ensure each senior is doing well emotionally, mentally, and spiritually. We offer gentle spiritual support for seniors who wish to remain connected to their faith. This includes:

  • Encouragement cards and devotionals

  • Opportunities to join groups

  • Community events where seniors are honoured and celebrated
